Where is content stored?

Hello there,

Loving H5P so far. Hopefully this isn't a stupid question - but I can't find the answer in the documentation or on the forums. Is content created with plugins stored on the host site e.g. Moodle, or is it created/stored on the h5p site?

I'm presuming it's stored inside the VLE,  but it'snot actually stated anywhere. And if it is inside the VLE where in the data / file strucutre is content located?

Many thanks,

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui!

If you create content here on h5p.org, it is obviously stored here.

If you use a plugin for Drupal, moodle or WordPress, then your content is stored on the server that those host environments are running on.

  • On WordPress, the files of content and content libraries can be retrieved from the respective folders in .../wp-content/uploads/h5p.
  • On Drupal, the files of content and content libraries can be retrieved from the respective folders in .../sites/default/files/h5p.
  • On moodle, as far as I know, it's not that simple to tell because of the way moodle handles files.

On top of the content and content libraries, you also have the plugin files itself and "the core" at some other places, and you also have some data stored in the host systems database.

Best,
Oliver
