Interactive Video
Primary tabs
An HTML5-based interactive video content type allowing users to add multiple choice and fill in the blank questions, pop-up text and other types of interactions to their videos using only a web browser. Make your videos more engaging with H5P and interactive video in publishing systems like Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, Moodle and WordPress.

Description
Videos may be enriched with interactivities like explanations, extra pictures, tables, Fill in the Blank and multiple choice questions. Quiz questions support adaptivity, meaning that you can jump to another part of the video based on the user's input. Interactive summaries can be added at the end of the video. Interactive videos are created and edited using the H5P authoring tool in a standard web browser.
Learn how to create Interactive videos in this tutorial.
Features
The following H5P content types may be added to your video:
- Multiple choice questions with one or more correct answers
- Free text questions
- Fill in the blank questions
- Drag and drop questions
- Interactive summaries
- Single choice question sets
- Mark the word activities
- Drag and drop text
- Images
- Tables
- Labels
- Texts
- Links
All question types can be configured to perform adaptive behavior, meaning that a correct answer could cause the user to skip to a specified place in the video while an incorrect answer could take the user somewhere else in the video. Typically, submitting a wrong answer will cause the user to be directed to the place in the video where the answer to the question is presented.
You may also add bookmarks so that your users can skip to specified sections of the video on demand.

Summary at end of video
I wanted to re-post with correct terminology: At the end of the interatcive video, is it possible to add the "summary" tab page that is featured in the "course presentation"?
Thank you,

Can you use interactions to do this? Add a text, or table at the end of the video?

Restricting the Summary library affects Interactive Video
I am using H5P in Moodle 3.1 and restricted (disabled) the Summary library because we determined we did not need it as a course resource. However, when the Summary library was disabled, I could not import a pre-existing Interactive Video file because it said that the Summary library was not available.
If I understand this correctly, the Summary library has to be active whether you use it or not because it is an integral part of the Interactive Video tool set (whether you use the Summary tab or not). This seems odd since the Summary library is not listed as a dependent library under the Interactive Video library in the Moodle plugin admin.
It would be nice if there was a way to disable the main Summary library while not also disabling the Interactive Video's ability to import existing content. We do not want faculty using the Summary tool but now we must have it available.

There is a permission called "Use restricted H5P libraries" (mod/hvp:userestrictedlibraries), will that help you in any way?
Anyways, we will test this to see if some improvements should be done!

Use restricted H5P libraries
I'm unclear about the effect of activating this permission. If I restrict the Instructor role from accessing restricted libraries, what does this setting do? Does this enable Instructors to use the Interactive Video to use the Summary library even if it is restricted? How is this different than leaving Summary unrestricted, from a functional perspective?

Hi,
H5P.org is setup this way to avoid running out of disk space. If you have your own H5P-site (WordPress, Drupal or Moodle), you decide what kind of upload limit there should be. Read more about relevant configuration parameters here: https://h5p.org/installation/configure-php

Moving questions on the timeline
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Reading your answer I didn't make myself clear enough on this topic.
I've made a complete interactieve video about an IT application. Due to some changes in the IT software (which will occur many times in the future) I had to make a new movie. Fortunately the questions didn't change. But after uploading the new movie I had to change to the position of the questions on the timeline to be able to synchronize the 'old' questions with the 'new' movie. This isn't possible because the interactions points are fixed on the timeline.
Question: Is there a solution to this? For me the advantage will be a reuse of material without spending too much time on both a new movie and filling out the old questions again.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way of moving and adapting all of the interactions to a new video source. The tool should definitely have had some sort of drag and drop timeline which would have made this a whole lot easier. I hope we are able to see such a feature in the future of the tool.
If you're a technical person there is one thing you could try. Download the .h5p file, open it in a zip program and then edit the content/content.json file. You should probably use a JSON compatible editor program for this but you could use any text editor. Here you can manually change all the timecodes. But be warned that if you mess up the syntax, the file will not work when uploaded again.

New Error/Issue when uploading to WordPress
We have received the following error upon uploading new videos to the "interactive video" plugin on Wordpress: "File not found on server. Check file upload settings." We even tried re-uploading a previously-successful (uploaded) video file and received the same message. Was there an update that introduced a new bug? We are awaiting advice/response from our WP admin on this as well, but please advise if there are any known issues regarding video uploads in the last week. The last successful video upload/implementation was on 20 Jan. Thanks so much for any advice you may be able to provide.

Do you get any error messages in your web server's error_log file when uploading?
This error message is triggered quite early and it means that PHP did not deliver the uploaded file to the H5P plugin, which in turn means that PHP ran into some issue receiving the file. The only error that I'm familiar with that will trigger this error message is setting POST_MAX_SIZE to be smaller than MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE in php.ini. Please verify that both values are larger than the size of the file you're trying to upload.
Please note that your web server may also impose restrictions on the max size of the request body – but then you would typically get another error message :-)

In IE it spins, then asks if I want to run a json file (admin-ajax.json). Regardless if I say yes or no, it just spins and spins (over 15 minutes) without anything else happening.
Does any of the other upload fields work on the site? I can create other activities, including uploading photos.
I've also forwarded the info about the web server log file and PHP to our server admin (who is coincidentally out for training this week, so available sparingly) and am awaiting response. I will update accordingly. Thank you for your excellent and detailed response thus far. Coloured dots
I would like to use interactive video in an e-learning exercise about safety at work, for example: 'Stop the video when you see a dangerous situation.' The student gets feedback about the intervention: 'Well done! You have detected a dangerous situation at the right time.' Or: 'You stopped the video too early: there is no dangerous situation yet.' Etc. etc. I figured out how to create an assignment like this, but unfortunately the coloured dots under the video give away the intervention moments and in consequence (part of) the answer. Is it possible to hide these coloured dots? Thanks for your reply!

URGENT: Articulation of NAVIGATION HOTSPOT with CROSSROADS
The HOTSPOT feature lacks a control that lets you to automatically jump to a video segment after a CROSSROADS branch is played. The HOTSPOT requires a CLICK to proceed. If you have a series of spoken video responses to a CROSSROADS branch question you may want to jump to the end of the responses to continue the video without having to click to activate the HOTSPOT navigation.
RECOMMEND
Change "Go to on click" to "Go to" and add a checkbox "On click". This is similar to how "Pause Video" works
