Moodle Plugin:Edit without resetting the activity

At the moment when you edit an H5P activity in Moodle (for instance to correct a typo), students who have already started an activity lose all their previous work because the activity resets itself.

It would be nice if a teacher could decider whether this happens or not.

Of course, if there are some major changes (like adding a new gap), the activity will have to reset (or at least part of it). But in case of correcting a spelling mistake resetting the activity shouldn't be necessary.

Right now, I avoid the problem by duplicating such activities. While students work on the old version, I can already prepare the new version and have it ready for next time.

I don't know whether a no-reset option would be technically feasible as long as their is no back-end testing of user input, but it could make H5P more easy to use for teachers.

Hi mattgig,

Thank you for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! We’re now working on something called the H5P supporter program allowing the H5P community to vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then works on a feature they find interesting or useful.
