Interactive Video
Primary tabs
An HTML5-based interactive video content type allowing users to add multiple choice and fill in the blank questions, pop-up text and other types of interactions to their videos using only a web browser. Make your videos more engaging with H5P and interactive video in publishing systems like Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, Moodle and WordPress.

Description
Videos may be enriched with interactivities like explanations, extra pictures, tables, Fill in the Blank and multiple choice questions. Quiz questions support adaptivity, meaning that you can jump to another part of the video based on the user's input. Interactive summaries can be added at the end of the video. Interactive videos are created and edited using the H5P authoring tool in a standard web browser.
Learn how to create Interactive videos in this tutorial.
Features
The following H5P content types may be added to your video:
- Multiple choice questions with one or more correct answers
- Free text questions
- Fill in the blank questions
- Drag and drop questions
- Interactive summaries
- Single choice question sets
- Mark the word activities
- Drag and drop text
- Images
- Tables
- Labels
- Texts
- Links
All question types can be configured to perform adaptive behavior, meaning that a correct answer could cause the user to skip to a specified place in the video while an incorrect answer could take the user somewhere else in the video. Typically, submitting a wrong answer will cause the user to be directed to the place in the video where the answer to the question is presented.
You may also add bookmarks so that your users can skip to specified sections of the video on demand.

No, but LTI support will give opertunities
Hi,
There are not any plans for a full plugin, that I am aware of. But #6 on the roadmap, is LTI support, which will give H5P a way to integrate with Sakai, so that H5P content can be embedded, and store it's results in Sakai.

Can't upgrade videos from
I upgraded Moodle 3.3.1 with H5P 1.4 to Moodle 3.3.2 with H5P 1.5. I went to admin and upgrade the library
I have three instances of Interactive VIdeo 1.16.0 and need to be upgraded to IV 1.17.2 -- when I use the green arrow to go to the upgrade page, I select upgrade to 1.17.2 and press submit. I get an error "An error occurred while processing parameters: Could not load upgrades script for H5P.InteractiveVideo 1.17.2."
How can I fix this specific problem and is there a way to fix these in general? If I have a course with 40-50 videos, it will be difficult to re-create them every time we upgrade our H5P setup and this failure worries me.

Is there a way to hide YouTube banner adds and suggested videos?
Hello. I love Interactive Videos for use with students to give them instant feedback on how well they are comprehending the content in a video. However, as a teacher it's always a preference not to show advertising to students because it's not possible to know what ads will be seen and this creates a delemia with not knowing if they are appropriate for a educational setting. I know there are tools to minimize the ads/branding in the embed link but the embed links don't seem to cooperate with the H5P Interactive Video.
Example link I've tried: https://www.youtube.com/embed/A2wG0sXbMhw?mode=opaque&rel=0&autohide=2&w...
When I try to playback the video, either the banner ads remain OR the video gives an error and won't play at all.
Question: Is there a way (either with an embed code or something else) to hide banner adds and suggested videos from the H5P Interactive Video with a YouTube video?

To clarify my question: Is it possible to hide the ads on YouTube videos within the H5P Interactive Video player, for use in an educational setting?
If I understand correctly, the answer is it isn't possible.
Thank you for the answer to my question and the insight into why the option to hide ads in H5P Interactive Videos is not possible.

Hi,Don't misunderstand me, I
Hi,
Don't misunderstand me, I really do understand you don't want the ads to pop up. It is the user publishing the video which decides if there should be ads or not, i.e. if the creator should monetize on his/her videos or not. So I guess both YouTube and the creator will lose money. This is what I meant with "the deal", i.e, you may embed the videos, but they come with a cost (which is ads). I am far from being a legal person, so how this works globally, I don't know.
Another thing is the technical perspective. I don't think it is possible to remove ads inside the embedded youtube player, since it is running in its own iframe, and the browser's security mechanisms will not allow us doing any changes to it.

I understand what you meant.
As far as I am aware, according to YouTube terms of use, education is an exception and you can use any public video for educational purposes, as long as you don't make money directly off of video content that you do not own.
The H5P Interactive Video player already has a place to provide proper citation for any content used that we did not make ourselves. I'm not sure how hiding an ad would "back fire" if it is done for an educational setting and still follows YouTube's terms of use. If the terms specify that banner ads must remain on the video, then that provides a reason for a "no, not possible" answer to my question.
Thank you for the answer to my question and the insight into why the option to hide ads in H5P Interactive Videos is not possible.

Vimeo pro external URL change, video no longer recognized
Hi guys,
I've noticed a slight change in the external video URL on Vimeo, "mp4" has been removed from the external url. H5P does'nt recognice this URL resulting in a "unknown" notification.
New URL:
This new URL does'nt work.
https://player.vimeo.com/external/181182781.hd.?s=856dc93fb341418555d5b3...
Old URL
When I add "mp4" it works just fine.
https://player.vimeo.com/external/181182781.hd.mp4?s=856dc93fb341418555d...
Is it possible to make the interactive video compatible with the new external URL? Without (mp4) in the URL. My chrome browser can handle the URL without mp4, so it should be possible? ;-)
Greetz!

Problem with fill in the blanks question in interactive videos
I think I've found a bug relating to interactive videos and fill in the blanks questions.
I've gone through the following steps:
- enabled "Prevent skipping forward" within the video
- added various questions / interactions, including a fill in the blanks question type.
- set the fill in the blanks question so that on incorrect answer the user should go back to a certain point in the video. “Require full score for task before proceeding” is enabled.
- retry is enabled
Then try the following:
When the learner watches the video > get to the fill in the blanks question > make a mistake in their answer > are taken back to a certain point in the video to rewatch it > arrive back at the fill in the blanks question.... However, at this point they get stuck. It's impossible to retry answering the question. There's no retry button, and you are unable to click into the "blanks".
This is apparent when viewing the video on the h5p site as well as adding such an activity to moodle. Also, any kind of browser.

Slow in WordPress
Hi, I have a very new PC with 16 gigs of RAM and I have a high speed internet connection, and I created a H5P interactive video that's only 29 seconds long. Yet it takes forever to load and now the sound suddenly stopped working. Even after it loads, it's out of sync and doesn't stop where I designated it. Just stops intermittently. Is this because of WordPress or H5P? Also, if I decide to upload a smaller video, does that mean I have to redo all my interactive content as well?

It sounds like this has to do
It sounds like this has to do with how the video is encoded and played in the browser. You should make sure the video is properly optimized for web.
You can test this out by uploading the video to your web server first and then try opening/playing only the video file in your browser(without WordPress or H5P).
Changing the video source should be fine, but keep in mind that if you have interactions that will be displayed after the new video ends you should change their timecode so that it's within the duration of the new video.

The problem is in the right-to-left languages
Hi
I'm new to H5P. I think the features of this unobtrusive plugin.
I'm having trouble using this plugin in WordPress for right-to-left languages like Arabic or Persian.
Does this plugin support these languages?
In the interactive video I create. Questions are asked by the user that the answer should be entered into QuickBooks.
Although the correct answer is arrived. But the plugin says every time that the answer is wrong!
Thanks

Hi sajadsaadat,
Unfortunately RTL is not supported by any of the plugins. Though I think this is needed by several languages. We’re now working on something called the H5P supporter program allowing the H5P community to vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then works on a feature they find interesting or useful. In order for your feature request to attract as much interest as possible make sure it follows the below guidelines:
It is clear from every perspective how the feature will work. We recommend describing the feature with one or more user stories, for instance “As an author I want it to be possible to pick between different effects for the check answer animation so that the learners will see a variety of effects and also I can adapt the effects to my target audience(I’ll be using pink unicorns which works really well for both my target audience which are 4 year old girls and venture capitalists)”
If the feature can be illustrated with images or videos it always helps
Make it clear what content types this is relevant for, and or if this is a new content type
Make sure you post the feature in the Feature Request forum.
